FAQ
Frequently asked questions
We receive a lot of questions, most commonly related to our posting categories and Visa requirements. Please take a moment and find your answers from us here.
For students
Can you help me to apply for a Visa?
We are sorry, at this time we do not offer any services to help you apply for a visa. However, there are plenty of companies online who offer this as their only service to students with a big wallet. Try searching for “help to apply for internship visa”
Can you help me to create or fix my CV?
We also offer services to review your CV and provide general feedback when we have time, however the line can be long so expect it to take up to several months before we reply. However, for more timely and detailed feedback we recommend you to use one of our collaboration partners who specialized in CVs.
Can you help me to find an internship and apply?
The purpose of The Internship Guide is to inspire you to know where to begin your search. At this time we do not offer any service to help you find an internship actively or to apply for one. It’s all on you, master Jedi :)
Can you or the employer help me with accommodation?
The Internship Guide does not provide a service to find you accommodation. Naturally, employers on our site does not offer accommodation unless stated so in the internship posted "sponsored accommodation" has been displayed under "Rewards".
Deadlines to apply?
If a company has set a deadline of an application, it's wise to respect the deadline date. Something good to have in mind though is that even though internships often has an application deadline, this also means the company most likely is posting internships on a regular basis, and are likely to post the same internship again when the internship period has ended.
So if you didn't get it this time, it doesn't have to mean that the ship has sailed for good, then you know when you should prepare before next internship is posted!
How do I know if I am qualified to work abroad (Passport / Visa)?
The company almost never sponsors your work VISA as an intern- therefore we recommend that you carry this on you and use your own google-skills to find out the local process for your country.
In short: it is your responsibility to understand what is required from the laws of a specific country. This is just the beginning to a world of law and rules that we have created over time- who depending on political views- may change over time.
Before you apply, make sure you know you know if you are allowed to work in the country you are applying to do an internship in and if and for how long time period you are allowed to travel and work in the country.
In general, if you have a passport from an EU member country, it is safe to say you can travel and work as an intern in another EU country.
If you are from India- please make sure you know which countries you are allowed to work in without VISA and the process to obtain a work VISA per country. Do not ask the employer directly “can you sponsor my visa”? Try to find out on your own before as companies normally won’t respond to your application if you do not have a valid work VISA.
Other than work VISA/Passport - We would say:
As long as you have read the Visa/work permit requirements and you feel you fulfill them or think you are eligible to obtain them without the company sponsoring your Visa, we recommend you to go for it! Sending an application will help to improve your writing skills and it’s not a waste of time- it helps increase your chances to find an internship abroad and improved your writing skills. If you still have doubts, you are more than welcome to send us an email with your CV to bring to front and evaluate your core competencies.
